Another brilliantly colored Favia coral. These corals are very easy to maintain and require only weak to moderate lighting levels. The Blue Angels Favia is similar to the Baby's Breath Favia, but the corallite ridges have a more intense blue pigmentation. Corallite centers have pigment specks that vary from golden orange to turquoise green in coloration. There are also pigment specks within the valleys and this coral has the potential to develop some spectacular pigmentation patterns while in captivity.

Reeffarmers acquired our seed fragment of the Blue Angels Favia directly from the California Reef shop Sexy Corals. Mike at Sexy Corals originally purchased the entire colony of this coral from the online reef hobbyist r2r. They believe the coral requires low light and medium water current.

Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in a 130 gallon Raceway Gyre BiZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive moderate to weak light levels from a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium metal halide. The price of this coral per small fragment consisting of a single polyp will be determined by the first edition auction below.
