Babys Breath
Favia sp.

Babys Breath Favia Reeffarmers Seed Colony. The Baby Breaths Favia is an amazing Favia coral originally discovered
by Todd Phillips and marketed nationally by SniperSPS and Matt Juner. The spectacular pigmentation of this coral
is similar to the Limited Edition Sunburst Favia, but this Favia also has a large area of pink to violet pigments
that develop outside the center corallite pigmentation.

The Babys Breath Favia was originally discovered by Todd Phillips at AWExotics. The coral was nationally marketed by SniperSPS and Matt Juner after being named by Matt. The base pigmentation pattern is similar to the LE Sunburst Favia, but what makes the Babys Breath Favia spectacular is that this species morph can also develop pink to violet pigments around the orange/pink corallite center. This can create a spectacular rainbow pattern of pigments (see image below). Reeffarmers acquired our seed fragment directly from SniperSPS (see image above). And after moving his reef, SniperSPS sold off his remaining initial colony to Eric at Fragfarmers. Matt at ReefReady.net had also acquired sections of the original colony prior to Reeffarmers and Fragfarmers getting their seeds. Matt in fact was the one who named this spectacular coral the Babys Breath Favia. Originally the coral was discoverd in a Los Angeles wholesaler by Todd Phillips. Hugo acquired his initial fragments from Todd. This coral maintains its intense pigmentation under weak to moderate light levels. Because of the exotic and rare nature of this Favia and because of high demand, coral farmers have typically been selling single corallites of this coral. Corallites can attain widths from ridge to ridge of 1/2 an inch, but are typically smaller. Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of the Babys Breath Favia for Reeffarmers.com in an 125 gallon naturally filtered Tri-Zonal Reef Aquarium. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive weak to moderate light under a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium Metal Halide. The coral only needs weak to moderate illumination to maintain its coloration. The Auctioned Edition opening bid for each new auction is currently $120 per single corallite. The quarterly auctioned edition auction schedules can be found below.

Babys Breath Favia Reeffarmers First Edition Fragment. Even a single corallite
sized fragment of this amazing Favia contains a wide spectrum of pigments. The center
corallite area contains pink, orange and gold pigments. Outide the center there
is a wide band of pink and violet pigments. Outside of this there are blue gray pigments.
