Natural Reef Geographical Locations
All the captive grown corals that Reeffarmers produces and
sells are asexually produced genetic clones that can trace their lineage
back to original colonies or fragments that were harvested and imported
from natural reef locations. Even though some of these produced
fragments may be numerous generations away from that original parent or
seed colony, knowing information about the organisms natural habitat can
assist our customers in reproducing their captive care requirments. The
areas listed on this page are some of the areas where commercial harvesting
of reef organisms has occurred. There are also now numerous reef farms
operating near natural reef locations throughout the tropics. Some of these
geographical areas are also listed here so that buyers of their cultured
products can have additional information.
