A brightly colored Aussie Acropora that has some amazing polyp pigment characteristics. Corallites are bright purple and have blue edges or highlights. The main branch stems also contain some of this purplish blue pigmentation. In addition to this the polyps are amazing. They have dark red tentacles that can develop bright green tips. Usually one tentacle will elongate out as a solid bright green tentacle.

The R66 Uberpora Acropora was named by Route 66 Marine. Whole colony was imported from Australia during the late spring of 2015. Eric of Route 66 Marine pulled this one aside and placed it into his exotic section. Quite a few store owners who happened to see the coral in person wanted the entire colony. Eric however decided to farm out this coral through his Route Editions distribution network. So reef stores will be able to acquire fragments of this coral in the immediate future.

Reeffarmers is currently maintaining a seed section of this coral in a 8 foot Raceway Gyre BiZonal system. The parent colony for the Uberpora Acropora died while holding in Los Angeles. It did not survive the closing and salvaging of Route 66 Marine corals. Route 66 Marine also had made a few fragments of this coral and some of those may have been distributed before the closure. Since the entire original colony was lost, we upgraded this coral to an Exclusive Edition.

Our system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In this captive reef the coral is positioned to receive moderate to strong light and moderate to weak water current. The first edition fragment of this coral was sold at the Birmingham CFM coral show in Leeds Alabama on May 17th to Reef Grow. Suggested list price on May 4th 2015 is $175 for a small fragment.
