Reeffarmers found this coral at Route 66 Marine where Eric had pulled the coral out from a large shipment and set it aside as being exotic. Only a few frags were salvaged from the seed colony imaged above. Originally in house this coral was called the Blue Violet Tenuis for its prerelease name.
Reeffarmers is currently maintaining a seed section of this coral in a 8 foot Raceway Gyre BiZonal system. The parent fragments of this coral are not known to have survived the closure of Route 66 Marine. We do not know of any other frags that were distributed except for our first and second editions.
Our system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In this captive reef the coral is positioned to receive strong to moderate light and moderate water current. The first edition fragment of this coral was sold at Reef Currents 2015 to Zach MacDonald. Suggested list price on March 31st 2015 is $155 for a small fragment. A second edition tiny was harvested from Reeffarmers seed and shipped to Mike Paletta in April 2015.
