Another incredible Montipora coral found by Route 66 Marine. The unique qualities of this coral were very apparent and the colony was immediately placed into an exotic collector section. It is unknown how the coral acquired its green grafting spots, but it does demonstrate that grafting onto this coral may be possible.
Reeffarmers is not currently maintaining a seed section of this coral. We over fragged the coral due to demand and lost the tiny seed. We are currently trying to get our seed section replaced. The parent colony of this coral was present at the Route 66 Marine facility at the time the company ceased operations. Our business associate was attempting to acquire that colony, but a different business in Southern California picked it up. We will update this page later. Our first edition was sold at Houston Reef Currents and two more fragments were shipped from Route 66 Marine to Atlanta and were sold by Reeffarmers at the Atlanta Coral Show.
Our system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In this captive reef the coral is positioned to receive moderate to weak light and moderate water current. The first edition fragment of this coral was sold at the 2015 Reef Currents event in Houston to Marvin Tolden. Suggested list price on February 19th 2015 was $175 for a small fragment.
