The R66 Blood Shot Route Edition Acropora has some amazing deep red pigment spots that can develop on corallite walls near polyps. The polyps themselves appear to have a deep dark red pigmentation. Could be a case of polyp pigments grafting onto coral surface which is normally fluorescent deep forest green. Basically a medium green color solid base.

Another one of a kind SPS coral from Route 66 Marine On this corals release date, the entire seed for this coral in existance was one encrusted base seed fragment in the image above. Distribution will be severly limited the first year or two. Unless some new corals similar to this appear, this coral should maintain its high demand fairly well.

Reeffarmers is not currently maintaining a seed section of this coral. We distributed both the first edition and our seed to coral farmers in Southern California. We traded our seed to Reefers Cove because we did not want to chance driving the coral on a two day trip to Texas. This is a very rare coral. We will reacquire a seed harvested from one of the two corals we distributed. No known surviving parent colony sections survived the closing of the Route 66 Marine business. The two fragments that Reeffarmers distributed appear to be the only surviving sections.

Our system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In this captive reef the coral is positioned to receive moderate light and moderate water current. The first edition fragment of this coral was sold to Dennis Sandoval. Recommended list price on February 16th 2015 was $175 for a small fragment.
