System Information
The main tank is a 150 gallon Perfecto tank. It consists of about 150 pounds of Fiji Island live rock and about 60 pounds of Carib Sea aragonite fine grade reef sand. Temperature is kept between 78 & 80 degrees F. This is maintained with the help of a 300 watt heater and a 1/3 HP Custom SeaLife Power Cooler. Specific Gravity is kept at 1.026. Calcium is maintained between 425 to 450 ppm. Carbonate hardness is kept between 10 to 12 dKH. Entire system is controlled by an Octopus 3000 controller.

The grow out system is a 50 gallon tank with 50 pounds of live sand an aragonite mixed. Water chemistry is the same as the main tank because of them being connected together. This makes it easer to maintain the same water quality.

System Lighting
The main tank consists of 3 metal halide fixtures. All 3 are 400 watt 6,500K Iwasaki. There are also 2- 72 inch 160 watt VHO actinic blue bulbs. That are powered by a IceCap 430 Electronic Ballast.

The grow out system has 2 - PFO pendants that are both 400 watts each with 6,500K bulbs.

System Filtration
Primary filtration is with the live rock and live sand. Dissolved organic are removed by a ETSS 500 Protein Skimmer that is ran off an Gen X 4 pump that works off an custom made 40 gallon acrylic sump. Ozone is used very seldom it is made by an Red Sea 100 mg/hr AquaZone Ozonizer.

System Circulation and Flow
The main tank is drilled along the back with 3 - 1 inch bulkheads that explain to 1/4 drains that are all connected together . The main return pump is a Dolphin 3600 that is tee'd off and runs the grow out system also.

Water Replenishment and Additives
Top - off water is replenished by a Life Reef electronic top off controller using reverse osmosis water filtered by a Captive purity 35 gallon a day 3 stage Pro RO. Evaporation is encouraged with heavy surface water movement and with the use of 4-4 inch Custom SeaLife fans that blow into the lighted canopy and across the surface of the water. This is done for water cooling purposes an also to keep the halides cool. Calcium and Carbonate hardness "dKH" is maintained with a duel Chamber Calcium Reactor that is filled with GEO-MARINE Aragonite Formula.
