Original 20,000 Leagues Lokani Limited Edition
This new Acropora was imported from Indonesia in 2010 by Tim Nguyen of Westside Aquarium. He has the coral located within his 1,000 gallon display system where it is positioned about 4 inches off the bottom. He states the coral does its best under 20,000 K radium metal halides. So it prefers weak to moderate light with low flow. Typical deepwater Acropora requirements. The coral is called Longhorn due to the smooth and elongated branches that develop. Westside is the name of Tim's reef store.
Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in a 130 gallon Raceway Gyre BiZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive weak to moderate light levels from a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium metal halide. Water current is also weak to moderate. The first edition fragment was auctioned at the 2011 IE-CFM Coral Show.
