An exotic looking Acropora with rounded corallites and smooth elongated branches. Axial corallites form blunt and rounded branch ends. Corallite edges can develop a bright green pigment edge, while axial corallites develop unique patterns of green pigment. Branches and corallites of the Vikings Revenge Acropora can develop a solid purple blue coloration. This pigmentation develops better with moderate to strong light, with moderate water current, in a stable environment and on a healthy growing coral.

The Vikings Revenge Acropora was imported during the late summer of 2011. Nick at Addicting Corals acquired the coral from Oculus Aquatics in Van Nuys California. This was a very unusual Acropora that Nick had rarely seen. Now back in the early-2000's Reeffarmers remembers a couple of corals similar to this that we called Super Chesterfieldensis. Those came in from Tonga, while we believe the Vikings Revenge was exported from Australia. And we believe the this new coral is even more colorful then the older similar Tonga coral. Reeffarmers thinks that this coral will do best in strong to moderate light levels along with moderate water current. Nick loosely based the corals name on the corals purple and green colors.

Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in a 130 gallon Raceway Gyre BiZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive strong light levels from a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium metal halide. The first edition fragment of this coral was sold privately. Introductory price was $125 for a small single branching first edition fragment.
