This Sarchophyton species is very rare and typically demands a high
price on the open reef market whenever it is available. It has only been
rarely imported and most colonies sold have been grown from small
fragments of imported parent colonies. The polyps are brightly colored
green. The parent colony that is producing the captive grown offspring
that Reeffarmers.com is distributing is being maintained by reeffarmer
Tracy Gray within his soft coral reefs. Steve Tyree is maintaining
offspring of this coral for reeffarmers.com in our quaranteen reef
reef aquarium that was donated by Tracy Gray. Within this captive reef the
coral is positioned at about 24 inches from an old 400 watt 20,000 K Radium
Metal Halide. Water current is weak. Small price is $60. Please note - We dropped the price
on June 8th to $60 per small fragment. This is mainly because the coral has experienced
a slightly wider captive distribution. The monthly limited
edition reservation schedule can be found below. Please note effective December
2008 we have changed the harvesting and reservation schedule to bimonthly. This
better matches the corals long term growth rate in captivity.
