This chalice is one of the most incredibly colored chalices we have ever seen.
Pigments vary from the blue grey surface undertone to the surface bumps that are
colored green, yellow, orange and red to the corallite mouths that are bright pink.
Definitely a Rainbow Party of pigmentation colors.

The SC (Sexy Corals) Rainbow Party Chalice contains just about every color in the Rainbow. A fantastically pigmented chalice. Corallites are relatively large and are covered with numerous bumps on the surface. These bumps are where the rainbow pattern of pigmentation develops. Colors vary from Green to Yellow to Orange to Red. The corallite mouths are also a hot pink with some cherry red. The main surface of the coral is colored blue grey. Quite literally every color in the rainbow.

Reeffarmers acquired our seed of this coral directly from Sexy Corals in September of 2010. Mike at Sexy Corals initially received the coral within an Indonesian coral shipment during May 2010. Originally the coral did not have the intense coloration. It was primarily all blue with a hint of pink in the corallite eyes. He maintained the coral during its first month under weak T5 lighting. Then placed it under a 250 watt metal halide where the rainbow pigmentation developed.

Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in a 130 gallon Raceway Gyre BiZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive moderate light levels from a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium metal halide. Reeffarmers price for this coral per small fragment consisting of a single corallite will be determined by the First Edition Silent Auction.

Please note Reeffarmers is no longer taking new reservations for new corals. The current economic conditions are not supportive for reservations that extend for a few years into the future. After this first edition is distributed, we will sell future captive produced fragments on either our Buy It Now page or via a silent auction. We will still list exotic corals as Limited Editions and will continue to build web pages for them.
