When this Acropora rosaria was first imported from Ponape, it contained
a multi-coloration that ranged from green to yellow to blue to pink. This
is why we have called it the 'Ponape Rainbow Acro'. A few fragments
were distributed to local customers, while reeffarmers.com retained the
remaining large fragment. After residing in captivity for 6 months, it now
appears to be a yellow acro with pink tips. Polyps are fluorescent
greenish. Some of the other pigments of the rainbow coral can also
be seen. There is green amongst the branches and blue just below
the corals pink tips. This coral is being farmed by Steve Tyree and it
is located within one of his 125 gallon naturally filtered Tri-Zonal EG
reefs. The 'Ponape Rainbow Acro' develops branching bush or cushion-
like shaped colonies. Please note this coral was retired on
December 2008 due to the loss of the seed.
