Psammocora corals are encrusting and massive stony corals. We have seen a few color morphs
of the Psammocora superficialis within the captive market such as green, red and blue. A new
solid orange colored morph began to be imported into the U.S. in late 2005 and early 2006. We
have heard of the existance of only a few of these orange colonies. One of the first orange Psammocora corals sold
online was acquired by Clint Conway of
Diamonds in the Reef . Reeffarmers recieved our seed fragment of the orange Psammcora within
a shipment of coral frags from Clint Conway. This is a very easy to keep reef building stony coral.
Steve Tyree is maintaining a farmed section of this coral for reeffarmers.com in one of his 125
gallon naturally filtered Tri-Zonal Reef Aquariums. In Steve's captive reef the coral is
positoned to recieve weak light levels under a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium Metal Halide. Limited
Edition Reservation price for fragment is currently $55 per small sized fragment. The bimonthly
limited edition reservation schedules can be found below.
