Reeffarmers.com has finally acquired a fragment of the Pink Polyped Montipora from Atlantis Aquarium of Freemont California. A coral which has made quite a impact within the Northern California area. This plating capricornis-like monti has a green colored surface that can develop blue highlights in strong light. The most exotic aspect of this plating coral is that its polyps have a brilliant pink coloration. This pink is seen on new growth polyps and some pink pigment even can be found in certain areas of the main monti surface. We acquired our fragment directly from Mingwei and Joleen from Atlantis Aquarium.http://www.atlantisaquarium.net Steve Tyree is maintaining a parent fragment of this coral for reeffarmers.com in a 125 gallon naturally filtered TriZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a cryptic zone, filter feeder zone and reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positoned 18 inches away from a 400 watt 20,000 K radium metal halide. The green and pink colorations are being easily maintained with moderate light levels. More blue develops in strong to intense light levels. Water current is moderate to weak. Current price for a small fagment is $60.00.
