Another incredible chalice Echinophyllia coral from World Wide Corals. Victor and Lou have previously brought into the marketplace the Bubble Gum Monster and Superman Chalices. The main body of the Creamsicle Chalice contains a solid blue coloration that changes to purple along the outer new growth areas. Corallites are a bright solid pink orange. Each corallite area is ringed with a thick band of purple pigments. This helps to define the striking color contrasts between the corallites and the main body surface. There can also be occasional large purple colored surface bumps on the otherwise smooth surface of this coral. Reeffarmers acquired our seed fragments directly from Victor of WWC during the 2009 BA-CFM event. World Wide Corals imported the coral through Clint of Diamonds in the Reef. We currently believe that this chalice develops its best coloration under low light levels. Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in an 125 gallon naturally filtered TriZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone, a semi-exposed zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive low light levels from a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium metal halide. The price of this coral per small fragment is $200.00 .
