An Amazing Stylphora that has Purple Polyps and a Lime Green Tip.
The Lime Green Pigment is difficult to capture, but appears very intense.
Polyps extend during the daytime and are purple with blue tips.

The AA Grape Ape Stylophora is a unique coral and a well known stony in the Atlanta area. Polyps are colored purple with bright blue tips. We have seen a few Blue Stylophora in the past, but this particular morph also delvelops bright lime green and almost yellow branch ends. The colorful branch ends constrast sharply with the blue and dark purple polyp tentacles.

Reeffarmers acquired our seed of the AA Grape Ape Stylophora during the fall of 2013 directly from Rit at the Atlanta Aquarium reef store (atlaquarium96@aol.com). Rit originally acquired the colony from a local Atlanta reef aquarist a few months after he opened his shop. The original colony has been in his shop for two years as of October 2013. Rit recommends strong ligghting fo rthe best color development.

Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in an 8 foot raceway Gyre BiZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive moderate to strong light levels from a 400 watt SE 20,000 K metal halide. The first edition medium fragment of this coral is being sold for $80 retail on our Buy It Now web page.
