The AA Cranberry Acropora is a Acro that can develop cream colored branch stems. These stems develop a cream white blue pigmentation. Corallites are dark blue purple, but they can appear cranberry colored in captive reefs. This may be due to a pink red ring pigment that appears on the inner edges of corallites. See image below. Polyps are dark colored and contrast sharply with the bright cream branch stems.

Reeffarmers acquired our seed of the AA Cranberry Acro during the fall of 2013 directly from Rit at the Atlanta Aquarium reef store (atlaquarium96@aol.com). Rit originally acquired the colony during early 2013. He maintains the parent colony in his home reef.

Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in an 8 foot raceway Gyre BiZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive moderate light levels from a 400 watt SE 20,000 K metal halide. The first edition medium show fragment of this coral was sold for $150 retail on our Buy It Now web page.
