Favites pentagona Purple War Coral Reeffarmers Seed
Colony. This Pentagona War and Peace Favites coral has an exotic purple main body pigmentation.
This is a very distinctive pigmentation that differs from the blood red coloration
found within the original Favites pentagona War Coral.
An exciting new War Coral with a purple pigmentation was exported from
a new area of Indonesia. This coral has a purple main body pigmentation that is very
distinctive from the red colored original War Coral. It appears to be very similar
in structure and in fragmentation capabilities. We have yet to see this new War Coral
extend polyps within a captive system. We are assuming that once it fully adapts to
captivity within a few months the polyp tentacles will begin to be extended. The coral
appears to be a little more difficult to fragment then the original War Coral. Fragments
experience a slight amount of tissue recession in the new cut areas. The coral overall
appears to respond to captivity very well and tissue is puffed up and extended. The
original colony was found at the Southern California Reef Store Pasadena Tropical Fish
by Advanced Reef Aquarist jimmy007 from Reef Central. Steve of Pasadena Tropical Fish
told Jimmy that this coral came from a new Indonesian exporter. The exotic purple
coloration of the coral makes it appear very unique. Reeffarmers acquired our seed from
Jimmy's main colony. We believe at this time that the coral prefers moderate to weak light
to maintain its intense purple/maroon pigmentation.

in one of his 125 gallon naturally filtered Tri-Zonal Reef Aquarium. In Steve's captive reef
the coral is positioned to receive moderate to weak light under a 400 watt 20,000 K Metal
Halide. The Auctioned Edition opening bid for each new auction is currently $70 per small
