Pink Eyed Favia favus Jimmy's colony. Corallites are quite large on this original colony. The distinctive pink corallite centers
were also very large. This pink color is a true pink and contrasts nicely with the thick green corallite ridges.

A favia with large corallites that each have solid bright pink centers. The ridges inbetween the corallites are thick and colored medium green, which contrasts very distinctly with the bright pink corallite centers. This was another incredible coral find by the Advanced Reef Aquarist jimmy007 from Reef Central. Jimmy found this coral colony at the Southern California Reef Store Pasadena Tropical Fish. This coral was originally exported from Indonesia. The corals corallites are very large and over 12 mm in diameter. The other species it could be is Favia vietnamensis. Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of the Favia favus Coral for Reeffarmers.com in one of his 125 gallon naturally filtered Tri-Zonal Reef Aquarium. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive moderate light under a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium Metal Halide. The Auctioned Edition opening bid for each new auction is currently $80 per two large corallites. The quarterly auctioned edition auction schedules can be found below. The First Edition Auctioned fragment will consist of the two large corallites on the right side of the Reeffarmers seed image below. Please Note - On May 2008 we retired this auction edition. This was due to the loss of the seed coral. This coral unfortunately did not exhibit sustained long term captive growth.
